Subject:APA style software From:Karen Schriver <ks0e+ -at- ANDREW -dot- CMU -dot- EDU> Date:Tue, 25 Nov 1997 11:14:56 -0500
There is a program that allows for APA style. It is Endnote Plus 2.0. It
is by Niles and Associates, Inc. , 800 Jones St. Berkely, CA 94710. The
phone is 510-559-8592.
It doesn't "automatically" make your file APA. You have to make a file
of all of your references (the heart of the Endnote program). Then you
simply insert your references into a Word file and then click "format
bibliography." It will automatically format your cites within the text
according to APA and it will generate your biblio according to APA (with
minor tinkering at the end still required).
The great thing about Endnote is that you only type in the references
once and then you can re-use them forever, not only for APA but for
Chicago, MLA, etc. You can do any format you like and change formats any
time you want with a simple click.
The downside is that it is only compatible with Word and it doesn't like
Pagemaker. I haven't yet tried it with Framemaker. Maybe others have.
