Everything that has been said on this topic is excellent advice, and
I'd like to add one thing. I find a small tape recorder is extremely
helpful to me in transcribing my notes later...nor have any of the
engineers I've worked with in the past ten years objected. Often I
don't need to return to them for clarification of my notes, so that's
one less interruption for them.
