Subject:Problem opening docs in Word 7.0 From:Cheryle Wiese <cjwiese -at- HOTMAIL -dot- COM> Date:Tue, 11 Nov 1997 16:10:54 PST
Hi,
I'm in an office that uses Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office. As the LTW
(Lone Tech Writer) in my department, all of our Product Managers send
their information to me as Word attachments in Lotus Notes e-mail. I
detach the doc from e-mail, save it to my desktop (or HD) and then try
to open it.
Every time I do this, I get several error messages in succession saying
"Word cannot open the document (path/filename)." I end up just hitting
"Enter" through six error messages, and finally, Word offers up a blank
doc. From that blank doc, I can then open up my document using the file
icon. It doesn't keep me from getting my work done, but is an annoyance
I would like to avoid.
Has anyone else encountered this, and is there something I can do to fix
it? I am having browser problems at the moment and am unable to search
the archives. Please respond to me directly.
Thanks,
Cheryle
