This is the transcript of an ACTUAL radio conversation of a US naval
ship
with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October,
1995.

This story has been kicking around since well before 1995. I heard it
happened further down the coast, during World War II.
(The Gaithers made a wonderful song out of it, though.)
