SmartDraw (http://www.smartdraw.com/): Shareware program that provides
a Visio-like box drawing interface. Great "smart" connectors. From
their Web page: "SmartDraw Software is the developer and publisher of
SmartDraw, the easy-to-use Windows program for drawing flowcharts,
technical drawings, web graphics, diagrams, maps, and business
presentations. Price: $49
allCLEAR (http://www.spss.com/software/allclear/): Allows you to write
an outline in text and have the program draw the chart for you. Great
for doing process doc. From their literature: "allCLEAR is the fastest
and easiest way to create and update diagrams, from the simplest to
the most complex. Create presentation-quality flowcharts, decision
trees, and fishbone diagrams in graphics mode with drag-and-drop
templates, or in outline mode. Either way you choose, you focus on the
process, not the graphics." About $399.00.
I liked 'em both I bought 'em for myself (even though I own a Mac at
home, I've found these two tools very good--so I use 'em at work). I
bought allCLEAR 2.0 (back when it cost $149) when I was working on a
technical process doc. This is after having used Visio & Flowchart
Express, among other tools.
