Freelance suggestions:
Write a brochure that describes what you can do.
Go to the library and copy addresses of companies from business
directories.
Create a database for the companies you want to contact.
Mail your resume and the brochure to the companies in the directory.
Even if you don't get a project immediately, you are advertising and
building name recognition.
Call the companies a week later. Get past the secretary by saying, "I'm
following up on correspondence." Ask to meet to discuss projects you can
do.
Hand out the brochure at an STC meeting.
