I use my computer with a speech synthesizer. Although I upgraded myself
to a Windows95 Pentium system two years ago, I still have hundreds of
pages of materials for a book on my old DOS machine. Recently this
machine has started giving me trouble and its repair is expensive. I
appeal to my technical writing colleagues to donate me a 486 machine in
working condition if they have one in their basement. My speech
synthesizer does not read properly from the Windows95 DOS window. The
converted files also confuse the synthesizer because of certain graphic
characters added. Your donation of an unused machine will help me finish
this writing project in the coming year. Please send your response to my
