Subject:RoboHelp and formatting From:Bill Swallow <swallow -at- USERTECH -dot- COM> Date:Tue, 11 Aug 1998 10:50:33 -0400

Word is a buggy program to begin with. RoboHelp makes it more so. I
spent quite a bit of time cleaning up formatting errors (especially
numbering).

Hmmm... I think that you should investigate your actions within the documents before calling an application buggy. Then again, the version of RoboHelp you were using may have been pre-service pack or pre-upgrade.
In general, it's quite easy to retain formatting from one document to RoboHelp-friendly document. You just have to include the original document's styles within the robohelp.dot.
Note, that if you modify formatting beyond the boundary of a style, of course you'll have formatting problems. But, if you completely rely on styles, you'll have no problems as long as you include the styles within robohelp.dot.
If anyone has any further questions on this topic please ask off-list, as it's not really on-topic with the rest of the discussions at this time.
