If you are not happy with your present job, or you are looking for new
challenges, it is a personal career action.
Do not announce it to your manager and coworkers.
There is no such thing as jobhunting "on the sly".
There are only a few reasons you *would* want to make announcements that you
are looking for a "new" job:
A) You know you are going to be leaving your present job because of a spouse
relocating, and you want your manager to have the ability to take their time
looking for your replacement.
B) You are unhappy with your present job circumstance, so you announce you
are jobhunting in some misguided effort to "stimulate" your boss into
righting some wrong.
And for heavens sake! When jobhunting, do it on your own time. Do not use
the company copier to reproduce your resume. Do not FAX your resume out
using your companies FAX machine. Do not email your resume out on the
company computer you are supposed to be doing your work on.
And for the love of Pete! Trust me on this: Nobody wants to here your
telephone interview!
And remember:
It is not jobhunting on the sly - it is just *you* advancing *your* career.
