Typically, the marketing product manager is responsible for the product
name. In reality, the name usually doesn't get decided upon until a writer
begins writing about the product, starting with "Use the ________________
to..." Then various names get bandied about until something is settled on,
and then there's usually a problem with that one, like the name is already
used, or a VP doesn't like it, so more names are bandied about until
something finally sticks.
