And there's the rub. So many respondents (I won't call them applicants)
send their resume even when we don't ask for it. These people are usually
the same ones who 'flood' every organisation that advertises for a Tech
Writer (or whatever), regardless of the match between the respondent's
skills and experience and the advertised requirements.
We _always_ acknowledge applicants, hired or not. And, we usually keep
their applications for future reference.
