If your employer is stating your release notes don't have pizzazz (or what
my area calls "marketing flair"), then your company must require it! This
requirement probably varies from company to company.
My writing is very straight to the point, and generally lacks "marketing
flair". I've found folks who are willing to read my release notes and help
me develop "marketing flair". I'm getting better over the years, and have
actually had too much "flair" once or twice (thank goodness for editors!).
I've also kept notes of phrases I've seen that I like or that have worked
for me in the past -- inspiration for the next time I get stuck.
Don't despair, find someone who can help you develop the pizzazz required
for your release notes.
