Is that really necessary. After enduring endless discussions, month
after month, about the merits of using one or two periods, Mr. Plato's
posts are the only ones that I read on a regular basis. I appreciate his
no nonsense approach. I too have encountered employers that, for good
reason, have a very poor opinion of technical writers in general. I have
also worked for companies that tossed the resume of anyone proclaiming
membership in STC as a matter of policy.

Dear Mr. Ray,
Does Mr. Plato have some sort of pass that permits him to be repeatedly
irritating, irrelevant and incendiary? If so, may I have one too, so
that I
might reply to him on equal footing? Or, conversely, perhaps you could
explain to him the difference between irony and idiocy. Better yet, kick
him
off the listserv.
