Subject:Numbering in Word and Thanks From:Xiang Li <xli -at- FEDERALAPD -dot- COM> Date:Wed, 9 Jun 1999 09:30:07 -0400
Hi, Fellow Technical Writers:
Thank you all very much for responding my email for the solution to the
numbering problem in Word. Even though I could not find the solution, but
your response did give me more methods and ways to work around this problem
and more knowledge about Word.
I apologize for not being specific about the problem. When I set up the
numbering system, I add words Chapter, and Section in front of the numbers
for heading one and heading two respectively, whenever I reopen the file,
for heading 1 word Chapter and the number go away, and heading 2 word
Section goes away, I have to reimport the styles from the template file,
and one time I found heading three (contains no numbering feature) was
mysteriously changed. I had to be very careful and this is very
time-consuming and painful.
I hope the numbering problem will be fixed in Office 2000.
By the way, FrameMaker never gave me such numbering problem.
