I'm going out of my mind. I'm using numbered headings, using Outline
Numbering.

I've given all headings a hanging indent of .5.

It doesn't matter what I do, Word sets its own indents (or rather tab
settings), ignoring my instructions completely.
Heading 1 - .5
Heading 2 - .75
Heading 3 - 1
Heading 4 - 1.25

I set all style settings through the Paragraph menu and the Tabs menu
that's built into the Paragraph menu. I've tried deleting all tabs, and
I've tried setting a single tab at .5. Word just ignores any settings I make.

The result should look something like this:

1. Heading 1
1.1 Heading 2
1.1.1 Heading 3
1.1.1.1 Heading 4

Can anyone tell me how I can make all my headings have a hanging indent of
5?
