What about Powerpoint?
A subset of "autoshapes" has the standard flowchart symbols, as well
as the connectors. Once you've drawn an autoshape, with it selected,
you can simply type the text to go inside it (you may need to adjust
the font size and add some returns).

does anybody know of a good (easy and fast) package to use to draw
flowcharts on a Mac? apparently the package that is common for pc is visio?
i need to be able to draw cylinders with text embedded and link it with an
arrow to an oval shaped objece.... TIA
