TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
As usual, your comments are thoughtful and considered. I think, with respect to
Bill's comments about grammar threads you might have missed something. Bill's
complaining about threads that shouldn't even BE on TECHWR-L. Grammar threads
are specifically ruled as inappropriate to the list by the List Owners.
It's not that we can't delete them. As you do, I delete LOTS of threads that
have no interest to me. But the grammar stuff in particular shouldn't even be
there to delete.
I see it as a matter of common courtesy that we not only READ the posting
rules, but we follow them, too. I think Bill has every right to post such a
well-reasoned complaint about them.
