Hi, Andy.

I think it's a cool idea, but I feel while merged TOCs
and indices are all good, this wouldn't allow for cross-module related links
("For more information, see also...") on individual help pages.

If you use ALinks, only the targets present will be displayed. Of course, if there aren't any targets in the whole system, you'll have a link that displays "No topics found."

Here's where MS Help 2 looks like it'll be pretty cool. You can use XLinks (which are like ALinks) to create links to other topics. When the topic isn't present, the link doesn't appear. (Or at least that's how they plan to make it work. Haven't seen it done yet. Guess I could try it myself.) Of course, Help 2 isn't ready for prime time yet. The beta is due out any day.
