Hi all:
I've looked in the archives and didn't find an answer about handling
software titles in the text.
I'm working at an engineering firm that has never had a tech writer
previously. In a recent proposal, there was a listing of software
titles that we use (e.g, AutoCAD, GEOPAK). I didn't italicize based on
what
I found in my Chicago Manual of Style, however the marketing person
thought they should be italicized based on her college composition
handbook.
How are you handling software titles in text? I don't care how I have to
do
it as long as its done consistently and can explain it to my boss. *LOL*
I had to define what "STET" meant (means let it stand) to a man who told
the secretary that it means "Stop Editing Today!"
