TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
As usual, the obligatory "Other/none of the above."
;-)
I _have_ visited sites where our RF network gear
is being installed. I've even ridden along with
the installers using a survey tool I documented
to set transmitter locations. I couldn't believe
they sent me off to Seattle to follow these guys
around and make sure the docs matched the field
conditions. Ah, the halcyon days of unrestricted
travel. :-)
More frequently, though, I have the users of my
documentation visit me. They mostly are based
here in San Carlos and travel to sites where the
gear is going, so it makes more sense to have the
users come to me. :-)
