Pen? Pencil?
Neither, my handwritting so is attrocious that even
I have problems reading it.
Only a keyboard will do for real writing, and I'm much faster on a keyboard.
Dad wrote his computer textbooks in long hand using
a mechanical pencil, while mom got the job of typing from the notes into the TRS80 to send to the publisher on a 8" floppy.
I still find it amusing that the writer of computer
textbooks didn't use them for writing the books!
Mom & dad met at a college typing class,
so that wasn't an excuse; then again, he was
distracted from his lessons . . . .
Eventually the publisher allowed dad to list mom
as a co-author, after many years of trying.

Being an inveterate pen person, I was pleased by this.
The question is: Are all writers pen people? Or mechanical pencil people?
