You are using the wrong printer. Reinstall Acrobat (a cusom installation
if you can) and, when installing the Distiller PostScript printer (not
the Adobe Distiller program), when prompted for a PPD, do not select the
default "Generic" PPD. Instead, browse your Adobe product CD and pick
Adist4.ppd for Acrobat 4 and Adist5.ppd for Acrobat 5.
Then:
1) If you are using FrameMaker 7, Save as PDF works great guns. For
FrameMaker versions before 7, you had better use File > Print to create
a PostScript print file (*.prn or *.ps) that you then open in Adobe
Distiller, the product.
2) Get rid of the blight that is PDFwriter. Always use Distiller.
3) http://www.adobeforums.com has a FrameMaker forum in which there is a
FAQ topic wherein a discussion of PDF issues can be found. If what I
post here doesn't help you, head over to the Adobe User to User Forums.

Can anyone help me with the following Acrobat problem?
I'm converting a Frame file to PDF, and I'm having problems with the
color
conversion. The color that I created using the FrameMaker color palette
are
showing up fine in the PDF, but the screen captures are coming out gray.
I've
tried the following:
*Saving as PDF.
*Using different job options (Screen Optimized, Print Optimized, Press
Optimized).
*Within the different job options I've tried tinkering with the DPI
levels.
I also tried printing to the Adobe PDF Writer printer, and when I do
that,
the color is restored but the dimensions of the screen captures are
distorted.
Does anyone have any thoughts? I looked through the archives but found
nothing to help me fix this.
