COBRA is available if you quit, but not in a just-cause firing.

>>There are several levels or types of COBRA coverage. Some don't include
an admin fee at all, but I know of one where the admin fee is an additional
$300/month--jacking up the monthly premium from about $800 to about $1100!<<

According to federal law, the COBRA admin fee cannot exceed 2% of the
premium. I suspect there is another story there... or a nice lawsuit.

Also, if you and your family are healthy, you may get a better deal by
shopping for a personal plan. After 18 months of COBRA, you will have to
anyway.

Just a couple of nuggets I picked up after seven years in employee benefits.
Peace!

Kevin
