RE: Preparation for a phone screen interview

I did, twice. Once was ok, short term (<3months), but the other one turned
out very well, short term extended to over 8 months, really fun gig.

The purpose of the interviewing process, which might *include* phone
interview, is to get a job...the whole process is to get a job. The purpose
is NOT to talk about how great you will be if you had the job.

If I feel comfortable with a position based on phone interview, I'll go for
it. The company has more at stake than I do. ANY job is better than no job,
even if the job doesn't turnout well and you get a paycheck, it is better
than no paycheck, and you can always look for another one, which you would
be doing anyway, with NO job.

Remember that the purpose of a phone screen interview is to get a
face-to-face interview, and the purpose of THAT interview is to get the job.
Rarely if ever would you get an offer from just a phone call. And if I did,
I'd be really careful ...
