I'm talking about the second part, about writers. You didn't say it would lead to *frustration* for writers; you said it would lead to frustrating *working conditions* for writers.

How does the *expectation* of both capabilities in a single person lead to frustrating *working conditions* for writers?

As I said, I agree with your first point, but the part about writers' working conditions sounded a bit like Andrew's oversimplified "ignorance as an asset."

By the way, I don't think Andrew was calling the SME ignorant who doesn't know where to place a comma. I'm pretty sure he was calling an editor technologically "ignorant" who has no subject matter expertise.
