...umm, if you need to read "How to Hire a Technical Writer," what
makes you think you know enough to estimate the time or determine the
difficulty of the work?
If you have experience at managing tech writers, fine - just hire some
labor and instruct them to work to your plan. But if you really are a
novice at hiring a tech writer and you have no plan, admit it and hire
a consultant.
