Month." Hope the following helps boosts your spirits. Who needs

here's to positive change!) As Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote, "We
judge ourselves by what we feel capable of doing, while others judge us
by what we have already done." Here's to "just doing it" and showcasing
all our hard work! Rah rah! ;-D
PROCLAMATION
Whereas the development of knowledge-intensive industries and
technical communications are vital to economic diversification and the
future prosperity of our state; and
Whereas the communication of new developments and current research
in the area of technology is critical to the advancement of technical
communities; and
Whereas writers, editors, media designers, software developers, and
educators are among the many specialists employed in the field of
technical communications who work hard to make difficult concepts easy
to comprehend; and
Whereas productivity, global competitiveness and professional
excellence may be enhanced by building bridges between those who create
ideas and those who use them; and
Whereas the Aloha Chapter of the Society for Technical
Communication will host various activities during the month of October,
2003; and
Whereas LavaCon, an organization created to help technical
communicators estimate, bid on, and manage technical projects, will host
its annual International Conference at the Maui Prince Hotel from
October 13 through October 17, 2003,
Now, therefore, I, Linda Lingle, Governor of the State of Hawai`i,
do hereby proclaim October, 2003 to be
TECHNICAL COMMUNICATION MONTH
in Hawai`i, and recognize the efforts of the Aloha Chapter of the
Society of Technical Communication for their continued support in
providing educational opportunities to our community.
Done at the State Capitol, in the Executive Chambers, Honolulu,
State of Hawai`i, this eighteenth day of September, 2003.
Linda Lingle, Governor, State of Hawai`i
