Dear Aimee Hall:
Like Goober, I laughed hysterically when I read your
post.
My second thought was, "we could use a manager like
you."
Then, I cried uncontrollably.
Some thoughts:
1) Why is your employer paying you less? Hmmmm?
2) Why is your technical writer a "font monkey" ...
ahem, fondler? Has anyone suggested he do otherwise.
You know, around here where there are more managers
than employees, it pays to be a font fondler, keep
your head low, and just type. Is that your
environment, also? Maybe this writer tried to be a
content monkey, but got so beaten up that he decided
"low and fast" were better (or am I projecting?).
3) Personally and professionally, I would not nail
someone who reports to me on a pubic list. In fact,
I'd go as far as to reprimand you for that. I--and
maybe others--are going to judge you by your
management style of blasting your direct reports in an
open forum.
But seriously, we could use someone like you.
(If I were you, I'd ask my boss for help on managing
the employee evaluations if you have never done such a
thing before. You should also consider some management
training, if you don't already have any--pay for it
yourself if your employer will not.)

And, if your name is not Aimee Hall, then I take back
all the evil things I said about you.
