RE: Expectations too high?

I was in somewhat of a similar situation, where the TWs who were in the job previously actually had no interest in being included in the business. 

It's essential to be in on meetings. I went to my manager and asked to be included, so I was invited to a few. For the rest, I had to depend on designated 'meeting goers' for my info.

I'd advise - go to the person in charge, whether your boss, or project manager, and make your case. You need current information, and it's most efficient for you to attend the same meetings as everyone else. 

Kind of obvious, but I've found a lot depends on what an organization is used to doing. If they're used to writers sitting off on their own, then it takes a lot of effort on the writer's part to change that. However, it's a very worthwhile effort.
