ICQ is a huge part of the culture where I work. People routinely IM, rather than get up and interact with one another. It's convenient, but I've noticed that, as some of the "older" people leave the company, and more and more Internet-savvy youngsters come aboard, that "IM speak" is becoming more prevalent. It really apparant in the way that emoticons have taken over everyone's emails and IM's (and have found myself infected by the emoticon disease, as well).
I'm waiting on the training seminars that will inevitably be initiated to fight this scourge.
