Well, OK, so I found out what my problem was (well, part of it anyway), thanks to a co-worker.
Evidently, the links were added in Acrobat Professional, instead of being created in the source document (undoubtedly Word). Then, for some reason, they floated. My friend thought maybe it's an inconsistency between versions of Acrobat Professional.
We opened the doc in Acrobat Profesional and used one of the Advanced tools to see the links that had been added in Acrobat. A lot of them have moved from their original text (and some have disappeared, unless they were never added, which seems unlikely).
So -- have you come across THAT problem? Do you know why it has happened? Do links added in Acrobat Professional have an unfortunate tendency to travel?
