I think consistency is the key here. Whatever you're using is fine as
long as you're consistent. Not that I want to avert a multi-day flamewar
on the virtues of "click on" over "click" or "choose" over "select".

_Read Me First_ has a chapter dedicated to writing
about graphical user interfaces, plus a table of GUI
terminology. Our preferred usage is choose for menus,
select for lists, and click for buttons. We just say
"click," not "click on."

So:

   Choose File->Print.
   Select the color from the Colors list.
   Click OK.
