If they can provide any numbers regarding performance, or cite any awards
(cashier of the year), those would help.

If you can show me they can think on their feet, have great customer
repoire, are loyal to their employer, and have motivation, these are all
traits that are sadly missing in today's consumer world. Also, if there are
any stats showing that, out of X number of POS transactions, he/she
committed the lowest number of errors, that'd be an important bragging
right.

If they belonged to any relevant clubs, such as Junior Achievement, that
would be something to add. If they're just starting their career, even
demonstrated leadership skills in something like Outward Bound or the HS
debating club may be important.

If they know their way around computers and can cite basic proficiency in
such apps as Word and Excel, those skills are important. If they are
technically inclined and can troubleshoot a PC and/or printer, those are
great skills. A gig with a temp agency, if they can nab one, might be useful
in leapfrogging their career.

Do they have any Web exerience beyong YouTube and MySpace? That is, do have
any clue what HTML and FTP are? These might be useful skills in helping a
small company maintain its website in addition to their primary duties.
