I have heard "efforting" more and more in the media e.g. "We are
efforting to contact him..."
Another noun-to-verb I am seeing in the documents I edit is
"transacting" (to perform a transaction).

You misheard. The word is not "efforting" but rather "FRT'ing," as in:
"I'm currently FRT'ing that project through Marketing." FRT stands for
"Fiscally Risking Trillions," and it's a common term in finance and
government these days.
There are other pronunciations for the same acronym, but this is a
family-friendly list.
