A traditional "dutch auction" is one in which the auctioneer
annouces an opening price, then repeatedly lowers it
until a price is reached that someone is willing to pay. The
name derives from the Dutch flower auctions.

On eBay, a "dutch auction" is one in which multiple
units of an item are for sale.  The winning bidder gets
to buy as many as desired for the winning bid, then
the next highest bidder gets to buy as many as desired
for that bid, and so on until all units have been sold.
