TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I first created a timing sheet of the video portion and wrote a script to
match as closely as possible. Although I could have used Audacity, instead
I used Total Recorder <http://www.highcriteria.com/> and saved each
sentence as a separate file.
By condensing or expanding individual video frames within Camtasia, I got
it all to match.
Granted, there are better tool$$ and methods to achieve the same end, but
this was the path of least resistance given the complete lack of funding.
(I had already personally licensed Total Recorder, owned the Shure mic and
bought the USB adapter myself knowing that I'll be using it again in the
future.)
