1. By being aware that it was happening. When a pay scale drops 2-5% a year
it isn't immediately obvious. You wake up one morning though and find
yourself looking for a job where you'll need to take a 20-25% pay cut.
2. Refuse to accept these ridiculous wages. I don't know about anyone else,
but I'd rather be a Walmart greeter earning $10 an hour, than be a
technical writer earning $10 an hour. Less taxing on the brain and I would
get to leave my job behind when I go home.
