That is the question of the day it seems, and not likely to happen any time
soon. Especially not when the Canadian government introduces pay equity
laws, then fights in court for years to avoid having the pay their staff
according to the very same rules.
Relevance to techwriting (so we won't get on the list moderator's naughty
list) - I chose this profession in 1995 because there was no pay inequity
between genders. I'm noticing lately though that males tend to make approx.
10% these days. Put together with the attempt of companies to downgrade the
pay scale for our profession, it's cause for concern.
