Speaking as a techwriter... NEVER use the word "recommend" or the phrase "we recommend".

Seriously...:)

Instead, use "Do not remove", and then explain what dire consequences will occur if they do that...

Just a thought, but since you're obviously writing about some form of equipment/machinery...NEVER give users an out. Just tell them what to do. It's not about politeness, it's about keeping them from doing something stupid.

And if it's REALLY important, use a big Caution or Warning. Important means that they will get hurt if they remove the covers.
