Bob Pallace, president of Pallace, Inc., will present a session on how
his Silver Spring-based printing business grew into a profitable advertising
agency with an emphasis on high-tech products. He will share writing tips
and insights into this new emerging area of technical communication:
high-tech marketing writing.
Connie Kiernan, conference manager for the 1995 STC Annual Conference
(which will be held in Washington, DC) will be present to discuss some of
the volunteer positions available to make the conference a success. Connie
will provide a brief overview of the types of programs that she is
coordinating. She will conduct a organizational/brainstorming meeting for
interested volunteers from the Baltimore and DC chapters on Tuesday,
November 16 at the Applied Physics Lab.
The cost of the meeting includes tea, coffee, and dessert
(cookies and pastries).
Directions from the Washington, DC area:
From the Capital Beltway, take I-95 North toward Baltimore.
Drive 8 miles to the Scaggsville (Route 216) exit. Take Route 216 WEST.
Drive 1 mile to the traffic light at Leishear Road. Turn Right.
Drive 1 mile to the stop sign at Gorman Road. Turn Left.
Drive 2 miles on Gorman Road (which becomes Johns Hopkins Road) to the APL main
entrance.
Park in designated visitor parking areas.
Walk into the main entrance of the APL. Follow the signs for the meeting,
which lead you through the cafeteria to Howard County Room 3.
