Why is everyone so hooked on making perfect, logical, grammatical sense out of
`thing'? What about `Crazy little thing called love' (Queen, wasn't it?)?.
Thing is a generic word for some, well, thing, whether it is a solid object
(That thing over there is a chair) to an emotion (love), to an amorphous
happening (you've got another thing coming--something that you won't expect,
thinking what you do). ^^^^^
