Benefits of this list...making new friends in Wash DC
Subject:Benefits of this list...making new friends in Wash DC From:Peg Mauer <mauer -at- FEDS -dot- KODAK -dot- COM> Date:Wed, 16 Feb 1994 09:38:47 -0500
While listing several benefits of this list, Mike Hamity writes,
"To make friends and contacts in other places...There's even a list called
TEXTMOOT FORUM where travelers can say where and when they'll be somewhere
and someone on the other end will set up a dinner or party for them..."
It's beginning to look like my husband and I will soon be transferred to
the Washington, DC / Baltimore, MD area. To be more precise, the Beltsville
/ Laurel, MD area. We don't know anything about this area, having lived in
Rochester, NY all of our lives. I'd love to make contact with people who
live in this area, who can advise us as to where to live and where not
to live, etc.
Being an STC member, I have the STC membership directory and plan to check
it for members in the area, but I thought I'd try to make contact here
too. (I realize that not everyone in the whole TC community is a member
of STC.)
If you have advice for me, please respond to me directly.
Thanks.
