Surprising as it may seem there are large Canadian companies that aren't
subsidiaries of US companies.
An excellent source of information is the Trade Section of the nearest
Canadian Consulate. Some Canadian Provinces also maintain outposts in the
larger US centres of population.
Other countries consulates offer similar facilities.
