Sadly, this is not a wisdom shared by Microsoft.

' The Microsoft Office Word 2007-based e-mail editor is the only e-mail
editor provided in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. The Word 2007 editor
is always enabled and cannot be disabled.'
So yet another reason to avoid upgrading to Office 2007 for as long as
you humanly can!
