TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
If you are correct, then I donât think that Adobe needs a financial incentive; they need a class action against them for supplying software with a known inability to function on a platform they claim to support. IANAL, but I smell a legal issue here.
Iâve cross posted to techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com as I suspect that number of folk in the US hitting this problem will grow and if a class action is feasible it is more likely to get off the ground from the USA than from here â and the sooner the better.

Daniel

Hi,
When you select *Save As > PDF* in FrameMaker 9 and perhaps in FrameMaker 10
also, you are using FMs old built-in Unix based PDF Generator.
To generate a PDF using Adobe Acrobat, you must select *Print Book* or *
Print* in FM and use the PDF printer driver.
We need to give the Adobe marketing department a financial incentive to
integrate a new PDF generator into FM.
