How does free sound? Chris mentioned Blogger, but IMHO, WordPress is a much better option. You can get a free blog hosted at WordPress.org (with various enhancements available for a fee). If at some point you outgrow that, they'll help you move your blog to some other host offering WordPress hosting for a fee.
